Where did you purchase her, and when? From a breeder?
That is ABSOLUTELY ABNORMAL behavior for a Boxer puppy, and is unacceptable - if I was breeder, I would be embarrassed.
She needs to be socialized, or should have been - most well-raised puppies are very outgoing.
I would work on slow, patient socialization. Dont push it, but be consistent about it - lots of happy treats and rewards from new people!!!

I was probably suppose to put this with my first message, sorry. I am new at this. My question is this: My husband and I got our new babies at four weeks old, they are now six weeks but they are pretty aggressive. Like I said I am a new boxer mommy and everyone else that I have talked to said it was normal but I am just not sure. Our little girl is the worst. Sometimes I think they are just playing and then I have to seperate them. Are they just trying to gain dominance or is this the breed. Either way I love my babies, I just need some advice. Also what is the best way to house break them? I had people tell me to hit them with a rolle up news paper but I just cannot do that. Any suggestions.

I will tell you that your puppies were WAY too young when they were sent home. A puppy should NEVER leave its mother before 8 weeks of age - many breeders do not send them home till they are 10 weeks.
TEMPERAMENT is what is mostly effected over those weeks, not growth or health. From 3-8 weeks in particular, puppies learn how to appropriately interact with other dogs, and humans - mother dog teaches them what is and is not acceptable.
I would for sure call the breeder - in MOST STATES it is ILLEGAL to sell a puppy prior to 7 weeks of age. Whoever sold you the puppies should have to answer for those temperaments.
Boxer puppies are NOT usually aggressive at that age - they will play, but its NOT aggression. (And its a clear difference.)
Unfortunatley, they are too little to correct effectively, but too old to change the past. I would give them very stern verbal corrections when aggression is shown, and to try and counteract their unfortunate past, SOCIALIZE THEM LIKE CRAZY as they grow.
Good luck and welcome to the forum.

Hello All,
I recently purchased my first boxer (Cassius) and I absolutely love him!!!! I am having a problem finding a vet who does ear cropping in Pierce County Washington. I live in the city of Milton (between Tacoma and Federal Way) but the breeder lives 2.5 to 3.0 hours away (Sunnyside, WA) so I can not use their vet for the procedure.
If anyone can assist me in this search it would be greatly appreciated.

Hello everyone. I joined yesterday and look forward to talking with you. I have Sage who is 10 - 1/2 years old. She's the most gentle of all the boxers we've had, she's our fourth. She walks two to three miles with me almost every night ( Except when it's really hot, it keeps us both healthy!). We'vehad boxers for twenty years now.

This is for Eric Terry re. cropping his boxer's ears. Our second boxer, Casey, didn't have cropped ears. We decided to do it around 5 or 6 months old, went to a vet in the area who did it and had it done. I would never do it again. She "cried" for a couple of days and we could see how uncomfortable she was. They bled frequently and were "sore looking" for a long time. I was told by a lady who does rescue and breeding (who I highly respect) that unless you get it done while they are tiny puppies, and done by a specialist in cropping, don't do it. I now agree with her after seeing Casey.

Hello, we are new boxer owners and are sooo happy to have found this site. The info is wonderful and since we don't have a local mentor it is even better to have you guys around! Our family includes a 4.5 months old fawn girl and we are in the process of getting a boy from Germany next month. Great to meet you all!
